Classic Americana food in a simple setting. The previous owners were staunch believers in sourcing locally- could name with pride where they got their chickens for the special. I believe the current owners feel similarly but have not yet verified this. Meat-and-potatoes with a decent salad bar and all-you-can-eat fish or broasted chicken on Fridays and (if memory serves) prime rib on Saturdays.
It isn't cute, it isn't the latest in molecular gastronomy but you can get a decent meal without a lot of pretense. The only downside is location- it's in an area where flooding can occur. So check the weather before you go, but go.
Good place to eat in the little town of Elba. We we're there on a Saturday for lunch, there was only one waitress working, serving drinks, taking orders... She was a little overwhelmed which made the service a little slow. Good food, nice cozy little place.
Decor is kept simple- old magazine covers in frames on the walls, very little kitsch or knickknacks.
Never had a bad meal, love their onion rings, sandwiches and full meals were very good. I've been there maybe a dozen time
Good food (burgers, pastas, etc.). Even the vegetarian in our group had options. Nice salad bar. Small town restaurant that is friendly to the camper in search of a nice meal.
Best food in the area! New owners have created wonderful new menu options which are unique and delicious! Every time I'm in the area, I go out of my way to stop in for a bite, and say hi to the staff. They are all so friendly.
